A low growing dwarf variety forming a tight little clump of foliage. The flowers are light blue with a slightly darker centre, 30-50 cm tall. Although smaller than its larger relatives, once established it makes up for this with its prolific flowers. Easy to maintain, they do well in poor soils so long as they are uncompacted, each plant eventually forming a clump of around 30 cm diameter. They respond well to having organic compost dug into the soil before they are planted, thereafter a good cheap organic fertiliser liberally applied in Autumn, as soon as it starts to rain, is all they require.

In our opinion, this is the best Agapanthus for small areas (2–6 M2) of ground cover. The foliage is much tighter, tidier than normal Agapanthus and produces a fine textured wavy carpet of dense green. Having said this, 'Peter Pan' can be used as a low ground cover, it forms a neat carpet of foliage and can be more easily split, for gap filling, than the larger Agapanthus. It is an ideal plant to have for filling spaces in front of larger plants, alongside paths and paved areas.
