A fast-growing, clumping, succulent perennial, perfect for a waterwise garden. It looks spectacular, especially when planted en masse as a ground cover, or in rock gardens. Fleshy, grassy, bright green foliage and tall stems of yellow flowers are produced over a long period throughout the year. The brightly coloured flowers attract many types of bees. Remove the spent flower stalks to promote new flowers. It will self seed very freely, so it can spread into gravel, but is very easily weeded out or it can be redistributed into other areas of the garden.

It is also cultivated for its medicinal properties. The fresh leaf produces a jelly-like juice that is wonderful for burns, rashes, blisters, insect bites, cracked lips, acne, cold sores, mouth ulcers and areas of cracked skin. This plant is ideal to grow and is a useful first-aid remedy for children's' daily knocks and scrapes.

It will grow in full sun or quite shady areas with very little water.
