A clumping perennial, 'Blue Select' fescue forms perfectly round, dense 30cm mounds of fine, gracefully curving silver-blue foliage. Plants make wonderful accents or are used to border walkways. Blue Select Fescue also looks great in mixed containers. It is easy to grow and tolerates heat, drought and poor soil. Blue Select' Fescue is more uniform in size and more vibrant than ordinary blue fescue. It is very similar to the better known 'Elijah Blue', but you can see a difference when they are side by side. The texture is also different. For a more natural-looking effect, the 2 plants can be mixed to create some variation. They require little maintenance other than combing out dead leaves in the spring when they start to accumulate after a few years. This will help to encourage new growth.
