A perennial, compact, clump-forming grass with very fine, bluish-grey, hair-like foliage. More blue in summer, turning greener in winter. It has delicate late summer flowers and an attractive straw-coloured skirt of old foliage. This Fescue grows to 20-30cm high and about twice as wide. It has shown no tendency to self-seed in our nursery, unlike many other grasses.

Taller and more elegant than Festuca glauca. The flower spikes are 40 to 50cm high.

It is a cool season grass. These grasses do most of their growing in early spring and continue as temperatures begin to cool in the autumn. During the warmer summer months, these grasses stop growing and even go dormant.
